About Me

My photo
This make-up artist and esthetician has a (bordering on unhealthy) addiction to all things beauty! No amount of eyeshadows or cream liners will ever be enough! I go giddy for all things girly. Lipgloss might not be able to heal the world, but it can lift a gal's spirits!

Philip B. Haircare

After Lucky magazine raved about the Philip B. haircare line, I was intrigued. When they offered 30% in their Lucky Breaks section, I decided to try it out. The Peppermint & Avocado shampoo is invigorating. You have to create the lather in your hands, then apply to the scalp or there will be no bubbles. It leaves the scalp tingly, and my hair smooth as silk. The Deep Conditioning Creme Rinse is nice & light, but it doesn't smooth & detangle as much as I'm used to. Those with curly or long hair might not be a fan. The Rejuvinating Oil is really hydrating, I just keep forgetting to use it! You apply it to dry hair & let it stay on for 20 minutes. To be honest, I'm usually in a hurry & used to using masks in the shower. I'll put it on my Sunday beauty regimen for when I'm watching my shows, I promise!

This I was told, was the Holy Grail of shampoos. I, on the other hand, had the Holy Crap(sorry to be crass) reaction to the price tag. At $140, I had high expectations & frankly wanted it to help out around the house!

The Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo just smells rich. It has a heady fragrance that really stays with you. It's consistency is interesting...like a thick, dense honey. You scoop some into your hand & have to work this into a lather as well before applying. Does it result in perfect hair? No. My dreams were slightly dashed, but maybe I had unrealistic expectations due to the review. Does it cut down on my styling? Absolutely. My biggest struggle was actually the container. Slippery hands + expensive product + screw off top + spoon for product=frustrating! Heaven forbid if I dropped the container, I would be quite bitter! I promise you my beauties, if I ever launch a line I will make it fabulous + easy to use! All in all, the products are good quality, but not life changing. I will admit to the irony of me balking so much at the price, considering how much money I spend on my face. In my defense, the skin is an organ! On the other hand, I don't flat iron my face every day so my hair deserves this luxurious treat!
Peace. Love. Perfect Hair. M

I WISH you had your own line of beauty products, or your own TV show, or both! You can be the Rachel Ray of Beauty! In my heart, you already are.

And I thought my Pureology Nanoworks shampoo & conditioner was expensive! This is unbelieveable but I have to be honest...I would have been tempted to try it too. Thank goodness you take one for the team and try it first!

That's me a team player ( or how I justify my beauty purchases!)

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
