About Me

My photo
This make-up artist and esthetician has a (bordering on unhealthy) addiction to all things beauty! No amount of eyeshadows or cream liners will ever be enough! I go giddy for all things girly. Lipgloss might not be able to heal the world, but it can lift a gal's spirits!

Red Onion, Baton Rouge

So I love interior design almost as much as I love make-up. I guess I favor things where fluctuations in personal weight don't matter;)
I went down to visit one of my best friends in Baton Rouge last week. The fact that it already seems like forever ago amazes me. Anyhow she recently moved into a lovely new home, so we were hopping into a lot of decor stores.
Red Onion literally made me cry with happiness. I couldn't resist, onions -> crying. I'll stop, promise. It was very me, style wise. I love orchids, but the glass vessels & color palette had me swooning.
Luckily holiday was still up around the store in some places.
My friend Shelley ended up choosing this amazing succulent garden for her kitchen island. It's stunning & adds real presence to a large piece of marble countertop.
Since I couldn't carry anything as heavy as her piece home with me, I scooped up a live olive plant & some faux succulents for arround the house. Though I often loathe fake plants, when I find a really believable one- I'll mix it in with some live plants to cut down on maintenance. I hope these pictures do the store justice- pop in if you're in that area. I was obsessed & so inspired.
Peace. Love. Lipgloss.

Wishlist Wedesday

I've always been a girl who loves the pretty. I still would rather sip orange juice out of a delicate flute rather than a boring old glass! Of course there will be bubbles when I ring in the New Year- so I might have to scoop up these streamlined beauties. It's hard to see, but "Cheers" is etched onto them in 6 different languages! They come from Room Service Home, one of my absolute favorite catalogs.
I saw the master of all things entertaining, Colin Cowie, on Martha Stewart last week. The things that man can do with double sided tape- it's not even right! I hopped right over to see his collection of home decor after I spotted these damask goblets.
They are on their way!

I scooped these dainty stemless flutes up last year. They are hardier than you would expect, I even throw them in the dishwasher. I love that they are a little unusual & unexpected. They feel great in your hand. So link me your favorite flutes beauties & while you're at it- what is your absolute favorite bubbly? We had Cristal on Christmas & all I felt like doing was rapping!
Peace. Love. Lipgloss. M
