Baltimore Magazine throws a Best of Baltimore Party to honor the winners from the issue & to raise money for the amazing charity The Family Tree. It was a great night full of great ladies! Here I am with one of our gorgeous clients, A!
Here I am with Bailey's "stepmom" Brennan who owns Baltimore Dog. She is beautiful on the inside & out. With my crazy schedule at the spa, I don't know what my dog or myself would do without her!

Files from the Brow Whisperer

This busy mom of four (!) young boys was referred to yours truly by another one of my regulars. Finding time for what sometimes is considered frivolous when you are a busy mom isn't always easy, but her brother's impending nuptials were the perfect excuse to schedule a grooming appointment for herself!
With a quick couple of swipes of wax her untamed brows were shaped, gorgeous & accenting her exquisite turquoise eyes. We both agreed it perked up her face & made her look more rested- which with her sons ranging from ages 8 to 4 months, we both knew she wasn't!

All Things Girly Glam

It's Partner in Crime's birthday today! She has been a truly amazing friend & mentor to me, so it was my pleasure to help her husband plan a small get together to celebrate. Partner in Crime is about all things sparkly, girly & pink- which would not be a straight man's forte anyway-ha ha!

We had the party at the Tiki Bar at the Inner Harbor- so we were limited on space as to decorating. I went for a simple candy bar type theme that was very girly glam to say the least. Pink princess lollipops, my adored (if I do say so myself!) Bon Bons, rock candy, ring pops & mike n' ikes were just some of the confections. Personalized cups & napkins added an intimate touch(of course I blocked the age girleens- I'm a good friend!)
It was a night of great friends, food & drink. One of my life long best friends is in town this week & was a life saver in terms of helping me set up! It was a gorgeous night, but over 90% while we were setting up- so we were melting as was the food! Thank the Lord for frozen margaritas to cool us down while we were catching up!

Here is the beginning set up before cupcakes, cheese & veggie platters were added. I was limited to containers, as glass wasn't permitted on the deck. I did sneak in an adorable hand painted birthday wine glass for the guest of honor & luckily I found some cute ice cream containers, plastic vases & lucite cake plates to make it more upscale. The splash of leopard was another tribute to the birthday girl!

Vanilla cupcakes with sweet buttercream icing from Charm City Cupcakes added another feminine & frilly facet to the finishing touches. It was such a great night & I wish her a very Happy Birthday!

Going for Broke in NYC

There's nothing like holiday buying when it's still 90 degrees outside! But this is the time of year when retailers like moi head to market to do just that! So while it was sweltering outside- I was sniffing gorgeous holiday scents for the winter season. These candles were divine- especially Frost, a cool soft almost buttermint fragrance. They're made by the same vendor who makes our best selling Volcano candle, so of course we had to have them.
Accessories make my heart go pitter patter, no matter what time of year. I fell in love with a new vendor at market whose earrings were intricate, yet classic & most importantly comfortable to wear! I'm counting down the days til these arrive!

Big bold accessories will be huge this fall & winter- as I always say go big or go home! Messy chain necklaces & bracelets are right on trend.

Here is that same turquoise bracelet in clear crystal on the wrist. All of the different textures & chains make it so interesting- it really is a signature piece. September is the month where all of our new loot starts arriving at the boutique & online store on a daily basis. I love all the packages- it's like our UPS man is Santa Claus for one brief moment, that is before I get the credit card bill!

Files from the Brow Whisperer

While some of my clients are getting ready to leave for college at the end of the summer, this student client of mine just got back from summering in Wyoming. Random plucking had wrecked havoc on the shape I had lovingly created before she left.

First up? A much needed trim to give the brows a more groomed feel. My client is rather young & petite so her original brow shape somewhat overpowers her delicate features. I softened them & left her with clear instructions not to pluck! As you can see- she had tweezed the "tail" end of her brow off. With some coaxing, I will whip her brows back into shape, they're already on their way!

Our Dermatologist Debut!

Our Dermatologist Dr. Noelle Sherber made her debut at the spa last week starting with a Meet & Greet Event featuring a discussion on ways to turn back the hands of time.

We had a great turnout for the lecture & clients of all age groups were interested in listening to the wealth of anti-aging information Noelle presented.

Our beauties then feasted on an assortment of yummy nibbles including veggies, cheeses, shrimp & avocado salsa as well as chocolate mousse on disks of white chocolate & champagne cupcakes topped with sweet champagne buttercream icing that yours truly whipped up from this recipe. That icing was delish- I must admit I fell off the clean eating wagon & right into several spoonfuls of that stuff!
Noelle & I were exhausted, so we headed home to get some much needed beauty sleep before the next day's Injectables Event. The night was such fun & a great start to our dermatology feature at the spa. The La Papillon Beauty Team just keeps getting better!

The La Papillon Beauty Team

I'm so excited to present to you the newest addition to the La Papillon Beauty Team! Girleens, meet dermatologist Dr. Noelle Sherber. Noelle attended Harvard University for undergrad, then attended John's Hopkins Medical School. Before going into private practice she also completed fellowships at Columbia & Johns Hopkins- in another words, she's no dummy.

A fun fact about Noelle? She has a photographic memory! That means our clients literally have a library of knowledge at their fingertips. Last night we had our first Meet & Greet for clients to meet Noelle, with a great turn out. She gave an amazing lecture on the latest advances in anti-aging technology. Of course there was bubbles, champagne cupcakes & samples galore- you know I had to glam up everything! I'll post pics next week of the event.

Having her join La Papillon means that today will begin the first of monthly injectable events that will be held at the spa. In addition she will be able to highly customize anti-aging or anti-acne protocols for our clients for enhanced results. We want to welcome her & are thrilled to have her expertise available to our clients.
